Zoom (TechConnect Zoom)

RCCD transitioned from ConferZoom to a TechConnect Zoom sub-account on December 17, 2021. District DE has created a to help you get started. The new TechConnect Zoom Canvas integration is now available in the course navigation, and it has a similar interface to the ConferZoom website interface. Additionally, you will be able to join & start meetings as well as access your account settings inside the .

Faculty can now schedule Zoom class meetings using the 鈥淭echConnect Zoom鈥� course navigation link and schedule office hours/appointments using the 鈥淭echConnect Zoom Appts鈥� course navigation link inside Canvas. If you need additional assistance, contact the District DE Accessible Technology & Media Coordinator. We鈥檙e happy to help!

Meeting and Recording Settings

Settings can be changed at the default level, or on a per meeting basis when scheduling.

Navigate to 'Settings' on the left of the page.
Select the 'Meeting' tab to choose default options for live meetings.
Select the 'Recording' tab to choose default options for recording storage.
Local recordings download to your desktop, and are available only on the computer used to host your meeting.
Cloud recordings store in your account, desktop app, and download to Canvas.
Audio Transcript is available with cloud recordings.

Adding Captions to Meetings

I wanted to share a brief update on the transition of our Zoom accounts. It seems that changes to our Zoom accounts in December reset all the settings in everyone's profiles. That includes the Closed Captioning feature. The CC options are still available but must be selected manually from the profile before the Zoom meeting starts.

You may be thinking: "How do I do that, Greg and wonderful DRC team?" Don't worry! We've got you covered! Special thanks to our Senior Interpreter, Katie Arnhart, for creating a brief (I promise) video that will walk you through the steps to ensure captioning options are available in any planned meetings. Canvas Users

Open your Course, then navigate to the ConferZoom app on the left.
Go to 'Account Settings' on the top right, then 'Conferencing Accounts' on the left.
A green check appears stating your information has been stored, you are ready to schedule classes and office hours.
Cloud recordings download to Canvas.
